Rourkela Steel Plant

The Rourkela Steel Plant was the first public sector integrated steel plant in India. It was also the first steel plant in Asia to use the energy efficient LD process of steel making. The plant’s capacity is expected to rise to 10.8 MTPA by 2025.

For the Rourkela upgrade, we supplied 16” FB valves, trunnion mounted and suitable for operating temperatures of up to 60°C. The valves were brass, ideal for oxygen service, and were fitted with Rotork pneumatic actuators.

After we had ultra-cleaned the valves, the actuators were fully function tested, as per the client’s requirements.
