ProjectSubba and Luhais oil fields, Iraq
Orseal involvementHigh volume valve supply
We were extremely pleased to have been awarded by the KAR Group the contract to supply a huge range and quantity of valves for the Subba and Luhais oil fields in southern Iraq.
The Luhais field, 120 km west of Basra, has facilities for the treatment of 5,000 bpd. The Subba field, 105 km south east of Nasiriya, consists of a gas separation unit and a 39 km pipeline to transport 10,000 bpd of crude to the main pumping station north of Rumaila.
We were commissioned to supply manually operated valves from ½” to 30”. Requirements went across a huge range of products: ball (both soft and metal seated), butterfly, gate, globe, check plus flanged and screwed valves with pup pieces.
Materials, too, were varied: carbon steel, stainless steel, bronze, ali-bronze and duplex stainless steel. Class ratings were from PN16 to class 2500.
Logistical management and inspection to ensure all valves conformed to end-user specifications and were key parts of the project.
We provided over 4,000 pages of documentation. All goods were packaged for sea freight and all packing was witness-checked and sealed for security.
In total, the contract covered 300 cases, 16 containers and had a total weight of over 325 tons.
